Wholesale optical eyeglass frames manufacturers

When sourcing wholesale, prioritize Cellulose Acetate for premium aesthetics and durability, as it allows for deep colors and easy adjustment. For lightweight and hypoallergenic options, Titanium (Pure or Beta) is the industry standard for high-end markets. For budget-friendly or sports lines, TR-90 (Thermoplastic) offers excellent flexibility and impact resistance. Ensure all metal components are nickel-free to prevent skin irritation.

Optical frames are classified as medical devices in many regions. You must ensure suppliers provide CE Marking for the European market and FDA Registration for the United States. Additionally, products should comply with ISO 12870, which specifies requirements for unglazed spectacle frames, including bridge distortion, endurance, and resistance to perspiration and radiation.

The hinge is the most common point of failure. Request OBE or Comotec hinges for premium orders, as they are renowned for longevity. Ask for cycle test reports (typically 20,000 to 50,000 openings/closings) to ensure the spring hinges maintain tension. Verify that screws are coated with Teflon or similar locking agents to prevent them from loosening over time.

Professional suppliers should offer laser engraving or silk-screen printing for your logo on the inner temples. For private labels, check if they provide custom mold services for unique bridge designs or temple shapes. Ensure the supplier can provide CAD drawings for approval before mass production to minimize dimensional errors.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) using AQL 2.5/4.0 standards. Focus on checking for surface scratches, asymmetrical temples, and lens groove consistency. Using a platform like Made-in-China.com allows you to utilize their Secured Trading Service, which protects your payment until the goods pass quality verification.

Negotiate based on Total Volume vs. SKU Variety. Suppliers prefer high volume per style; if you need many styles, offer a higher total annual commitment in exchange for lower MOQs per color. Always ask for 'Sales Samples' pricing to be deducted from the final bulk order invoice to reduce initial R&D costs.

Frames are susceptible to pressure damage. Insist on individual polybags and bubble wrap, packed into 5-layer corrugated master cartons. For high-value acetate frames, ensure the shipping environment is temperature-controlled to prevent warping. For urgent restocks, Air Freight is recommended, but for wholesale bulk, Sea-Freight (LCL) is more cost-effective if planned 8-10 weeks in advance.

Ensure the designs do not infringe on major global brands. Request a Letter of Authorization if you are buying licensed designs. When providing your own designs, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and ensure the supplier is a Verified Manufacturer on Made-in-China.com to ensure they have a reputable business history and legal standing.
