I have found results from400+products and200+suppliers aboutWholesale black tea powder
When purchasing black tea powder in bulk, you must evaluate the particle size (mesh count), which typically ranges from 80 to 200 mesh depending on whether it is for instant beverages or baking. Solubility is critical for beverage applications; ensure the powder is 100% water-soluble without sediment. Additionally, verify the moisture content, which should be below 5% to prevent clumping and microbial growth during long-term storage.
To ensure food safety and market entry, prioritize suppliers with HACCP and ISO 22000 certifications. For the US market, FDA registration is essential, while the EU requires strict adherence to MRL (Maximum Residue Levels) for pesticides. If targeting health-conscious segments, look for USDA Organic, EU Organic, or Rainforest Alliance certifications to validate sustainable and chemical-free farming practices.
It is vital to distinguish between the two: Instant Black Tea Powder is a cold-water soluble extract produced through spray-drying, ideal for iced teas and RTD (Ready-to-Drink) beverages. In contrast, Matcha-style (Ground) Black Tea Powder consists of finely milled tea leaves, which retains more fiber and is better suited for baking, confectionery, and lattes where a full-bodied texture is desired.
Pricing is primarily driven by the extraction ratio (e.g., 4:1 or 10:1) and the origin of the raw leaves. Bulk orders exceeding 500kg typically qualify for 15-25% discounts. Buyers should also consider the packaging format; sourcing in 20kg-25kg fiber drums with double PE liners is the most cost-effective method for international shipping compared to smaller retail-ready pouches.
The biggest risk is pesticide residue non-compliance, which can lead to customs seizure. Mitigate this by requesting a Batch-specific COA (Certificate of Analysis) and a Third-party Lab Report (e.g., SGS or Eurofins) before shipment. Another risk is oxidation during transit; ensure the supplier uses vacuum-sealed, light-proof aluminum foil bags to maintain the powder's aroma and color.
Focus on long-term volume commitments rather than one-off purchases to secure 'Gold Supplier' pricing. Request a pre-shipment sample from the actual production lot to verify the sensory profile (aroma, bitterness, and color). Negotiate for OEM/Private Labeling services early, as many top-tier Chinese manufacturers offer free packaging design for orders meeting a specific MOQ (e.g., 1000 units).
For large volumes, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended to maintain control over freight costs. Ensure the cargo is stored in a cool, dry area of the vessel away from heat sources. For urgent, smaller batches, Air Freight is safer to prevent moisture absorption, but ensure the supplier provides a Non-DGM (Dangerous Goods) Report to avoid delays during airline security checks.
Always utilize Secure Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after proof of shipment. For large-scale wholesale, consider a Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance against B/L (Bill of Lading) structure to balance the risk between the buyer and the manufacturer.
