Sportswear jacket manufacturers

When sourcing sportswear jackets, the fabric is the most critical factor. You should prioritize moisture-wicking and quick-dry technologies (such as Coolmax or specialized polyester blends) to ensure athlete comfort. For outdoor or performance jackets, verify the waterproof rating (measured in mm) and breathability (measured in g/m²/24h). Ensure the supplier uses Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coatings that are PFOA/PFOS free to meet modern environmental standards.

To avoid customs issues and ensure consumer safety, verify that the products meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for chemical safety. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA (especially for children's sportswear) is mandatory. For the EU, ensure adherence to REACH regulations. Additionally, check for ISO 12947-2 (Martindale method) for abrasion resistance to guarantee the jacket's durability during high-intensity activities.

High-quality sportswear jackets should feature ergonomic tailoring (3D cutting) to allow for a full range of motion. Look for reinforced stitching (flatlock or twin-needle) at high-stress points like armpits and pockets. Safety features such as 3M reflective strips are essential for night running gear. Furthermore, ensure the use of high-quality zippers (like YKK) and chin guards to prevent skin irritation.

Calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), which includes the unit price, shipping, duties, and potential defect rates. Seek suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer tiered pricing; typically, increasing order volume from 500 to 2,000 units can reduce the unit cost by 15-25%. Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) to verify that the mass production will match your specifications, preventing costly returns.

The primary risks include size discrepancy (Asian vs. Western sizing) and color variance between digital photos and physical fabric. To mitigate this, provide a detailed size chart in centimeters and use Pantone Color Codes for all custom orders. Another risk is intellectual property infringement; ensure your designs or logos do not violate existing trademarks.

Focus on long-term partnership potential rather than just the lowest price. Negotiate for lower MOQs on trial orders to test the market. Ask for transparency in the supply chain, specifically where they source their technical fabrics. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' to ensure the factory has been verified by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas.

Sportswear is susceptible to moisture and mold during long sea voyages. Insist on the use of silica gel desiccant packets in every individual polybag and heavy-duty moisture-proof inner linings for the master cartons. For high-value performance jackets, consider FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain better control over the shipping costs and the choice of freight forwarder.

Always use secure payment methods provided by reputable platforms. Utilize Escrow-based services or Letters of Credit (L/C) for large transactions to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license and the Made-in-China.com profile.
