Solvent red 111 manufacturers

Solvent Red 111 is an anthraquinone-based oil-soluble dye primarily used for coloring plastics. Buyers must verify the heat resistance (typically up to 260°C-300°C) to ensure it doesn't degrade during injection molding. Additionally, check the lightfastness (Grade 7-8) and migration resistance to prevent color bleeding in the final product. The purity level should be confirmed via HPLC, as impurities can affect the transparency and hue of the plastic.

It is widely used in the coloring of engineering plastics such as PS, HIPS, ABS, PC, and PMMA. Due to its excellent transparency and bright red hue, it is ideal for automotive tail lights, signal lamps, and transparent plastic containers. It is also utilized in polyester fiber (PET) masterbatches and certain printing inks or wood stains where high solubility in organic solvents is required.

For export to the EU, the product must be REACH compliant to ensure chemical safety. If the dye is used in food-contact materials or toys, it must adhere to FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) regulations or EN71-3 standards. Always request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) from the supplier to verify heavy metal limits (such as Lead, Arsenic, and Cadmium).

Request a pre-shipment sample to conduct a color matching test against your standard. Evaluate the solubility rate in solvents like toluene or xylene. Professional buyers should look for suppliers with ISO 9001 certification and ask for spectrophotometer data (Delta E) to ensure color consistency between different production lots, which is critical for large-scale manufacturing.

The main risks include quality variance between samples and bulk orders, and regulatory seizure due to improper labeling. To mitigate this, use third-party inspection services before the balance payment. Ensure the supplier provides UN-approved packaging for chemical transport to prevent leakage and ensure safety during maritime or air transit.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; for Solvent Red 111, prices often drop significantly for orders over 500kg or 1 ton. Negotiate for customized packaging (e.g., 25kg fiber drums vs. cartons) to suit your warehouse needs. Ask for a long-term supply agreement to lock in prices, as the raw material costs for anthraquinone derivatives can fluctuate.

Solvent Red 111 is generally classified as non-hazardous for transport, but you must confirm this with the supplier's DGM report or IMO declaration. Ensure the goods are stored in a cool, dry, and ventilated warehouse away from oxidizers. For shipping to countries with strict customs, ensure the HS Code (usually 320411) is correctly declared to avoid delays or incorrect duty applications.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are verified. Conduct a factory audit or request a video call to inspect the production line and laboratory. Avoid direct transfers to private accounts; always use corporate bank accounts that match the supplier's registered business name.
