Rice syrup manufacturers

When evaluating rice syrup, you must prioritize Dextrose Equivalent (DE) values, which determine the sweetness and viscosity levels. Ensure the product is 100% non-GMO and check for clarity and color consistency (ranging from clear to amber). High-quality syrup should have low heavy metal content (specifically Arsenic levels below 0.1 mg/kg) and be free from artificial additives or preservatives.

To ensure global compliance and consumer safety, suppliers should hold GFSI-recognized certifications such as BRC, IFS, or FSSC 22000. For specific market access, verify HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) compliance. If targeting health-conscious segments, prioritize suppliers with USDA Organic, EU Organic, Kosher, and Halal certifications.

Rice syrup produced via enzymatic hydrolysis is preferred over acid-hydrolysis as it results in a cleaner flavor profile and better functional properties. For B2B buyers in the bakery or confectionery sectors, the carbohydrate profile (glucose, maltose, and complex carbs) is critical for controlling crystallization, browning (Maillard reaction), and moisture retention in the final product.

Standard rice syrup typically has a shelf life of 12 to 24 months when stored correctly. It should be kept in a cool, dry environment (15-25°C) to prevent fermentation or color darkening. For bulk procurement, ensure the supplier uses BPA-free food-grade drums or IBC totes that are hermetically sealed to prevent microbial contamination.

The biggest risks include heavy metal contamination (Arsenic) and adulteration with cheaper sugars. Mitigate these by requesting Batch-specific COA (Certificate of Analysis) and utilizing third-party pre-shipment inspections (such as SGS or Intertek). Always verify the supplier's export history and factory audits on professional platforms like Made-in-China.com.

Negotiate based on volume-tiered pricing; typically, orders exceeding 20 tons (one FCL) can secure 10-15% discounts. Request FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over shipping costs, but ensure the contract includes a price adjustment clause linked to raw rice commodity market fluctuations to manage long-term cost stability.

Rice syrup is heavy and sensitive to temperature extremes. Use Flexitanks for cost-effective bulk shipping of 20+ tons, or IBC totes for easier unloading. Ensure the bill of lading specifies 'Food Grade' containers and confirm that the shipping route avoids prolonged exposure to high heat, which can cause syrup discoloration or pressure buildup in containers.

Utilize Secured Payment services offered by reputable sourcing portals like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For first-time orders, use Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance against BL copy structure to protect your capital against non-delivery or quality discrepancies.
