Profenofos manufacturers

When sourcing Profenofos, the primary focus should be on the Active Ingredient (AI) content, typically available in 90% or 94% Technical Grade (TC), or formulated as 500g/L Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC). Buyers must verify the acidity levels (usually ≤ 0.5%) and moisture content (usually ≤ 0.2%) to ensure chemical stability. For EC formulations, the emulsion stability and cold storage stability are critical to prevent crystallization during transport or storage.

As an organophosphate insecticide, Profenofos must adhere to FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) specifications. Suppliers should provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. Furthermore, ensure the manufacturer complies with ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management, as chemical production is strictly regulated globally.

Profenofos is a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide with contact and stomach action. It is highly effective for bollworm control in cotton, as well as pests in maize, sugar beet, and vegetables. Its unique advantage is its translaminar effect, allowing it to kill pests on the underside of leaves, and its efficacy against organophosphorus-resistant pests.

Buyers should analyze the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), which includes the unit price, hazardous goods (DG) shipping surcharges, and customs duties. Purchasing in bulk (e.g., 200L drums or 1000L IBC tanks) can reduce packaging costs by 15-20% compared to small retail bottles. Always check the shelf life (typically 2 years) to avoid inventory depreciation.

Profenofos is classified as a Class 6.1 Toxic Substance or Class 9 Environmentally Hazardous Substance depending on the concentration and formulation. It requires UN-approved packaging and a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for maritime or air freight. You must ensure your freight forwarder is licensed to handle Dangerous Goods (DG) to avoid port seizures.

To ensure transaction security, use Secure Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. It is highly recommended to commission a third-party inspection (such as SGS or BV) to perform pre-shipment sampling and testing to verify that the purity matches the agreed specifications before the final balance is paid.

Many countries require a Pesticide Import Permit or registration with the local Ministry of Agriculture. Before ordering, confirm that the specific concentration of Profenofos is registered and legal for use in your destination country. Failure to provide the correct HS Code (typically 3808.91) and registration documents can lead to heavy fines or forced destruction of the cargo.

Focus negotiations on lead time stability and purity guarantees rather than just the lowest price. Request a tiered pricing structure based on volume and ask for free samples (500ml - 1L) for lab testing. Establishing a long-term supply contract can often secure a priority allocation during peak agricultural seasons when demand spikes and prices fluctuate.
