Porcelain magnet manufacturers

When sourcing porcelain magnets, you must prioritize the magnetic grade (e.g., N35-N52 for Neodymium cores or Y30-Y35 for Ferrite) and the adhesion method between the porcelain shell and the magnet. Ensure the porcelain is high-fired (above 1200°C) to guarantee low porosity and high mechanical strength. For decorative items, specify glaze thickness and lead-free compliance to ensure the product is safe for consumer handling.

For the US market, products must comply with ASTM F963-17 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety) if they are marketed as gifts or toys, specifically regarding magnet size and flux index to prevent ingestion hazards. For the EU, REACH and RoHS certifications are essential to ensure the porcelain glazes do not contain restricted heavy metals like lead or cadmium. Always request EN71-3 test reports for color migration safety.

To prevent degradation, the internal magnet should be Ni-Cu-Ni (Nickel-Copper-Nickel) plated to resist corrosion. The porcelain exterior should be fully vitrified to prevent water absorption, which can lead to cracking in fluctuating temperatures. Additionally, verify that the epoxy resin or structural adhesive used to bond the components is waterproof and heat-resistant up to at least 80°C.

Buyers should request a First Article Inspection (FAI). Evaluate the dimensional tolerance (typically ±0.05mm for the magnet and ±0.2mm for the porcelain). Check for surface defects such as pinholes, black spots, or uneven glazing. For custom shapes, ensure the magnetic pull force is tested using a digital tension meter to confirm it meets the specified kilogram-force (kgf) requirements.

Magnets are classified as 'Dangerous Goods' for air freight if their magnetic field strength exceeds 0.159 A/m at 2.1 meters. You must ensure the supplier provides Magnetic Inspection Reports and uses shielded packaging (iron sheets or specialized foam) to neutralize the magnetic field. Failure to do so can lead to shipment rejection or heavy fines by airlines.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. When negotiating, clearly define the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL 2.5/4.0) in the contract. Insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify that the fragile porcelain is packed in double-walled corrugated cartons with individual bubble wraps to prevent breakage during transit.

Request Drop Test (ISTA 1A or 2A) certification for the packaging. For large orders, prioritize Palletized Shipping with plastic wrap and edge protectors to minimize manual handling. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined; CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is often preferred for fragile goods to ensure the cargo is covered against damage during sea transit.

Check the Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 8505.11 for metal magnets or 6913.90 for porcelain ornaments). Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or USA) may apply to specific ceramic products from China. Always verify the Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) preferential tariffs.
