Plastic chicken wire mesh manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polypropylene (PP) materials. HDPE is preferred for its superior tensile strength and resistance to environmental stressors. Ensure the mesh includes UV-stabilized additives to prevent brittleness and degradation when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. For agricultural use, a mesh size of 0.5 to 1.2 inches is standard to effectively deter predators while maintaining airflow.

Request technical data sheets that specify the tensile strength (measured in N/50mm) and bursting strength. A high-quality plastic mesh should have smooth, reinforced edges to prevent tearing during installation. Ask the supplier for accelerated weathering test reports (such as ASTM G154) to confirm the product's lifespan in high-UV environments. For heavy-duty applications, ensure the weight per square meter (GSM) is at least 250-400g.

For the European market, ensure the product is REACH compliant, meaning it is free from harmful plasticizers and heavy metals. If the mesh is used in proximity to livestock or food production, look for food-grade certification or non-toxic material declarations. Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who hold ISO 9001:2015 certification are generally more reliable in maintaining consistent extrusion quality and hole-size uniformity.

Plastic chicken wire is ideal for coastal regions because it is 100% corrosion-proof and rust-proof. Common scenarios include poultry fencing, garden protection, and aquaculture. Its primary advantages are that it is lightweight for easy transport, non-conductive, and safe to handle as it lacks the sharp edges found in galvanized steel wire, reducing the risk of injury to both workers and animals.

The most significant risk is material substitution, where a supplier uses recycled plastic instead of virgin resin, leading to premature cracking. To mitigate this, request a pre-shipment sample and use third-party inspection services to verify the material density and UV resistance. Another risk is deformation during shipping; ensure the rolls are tightly wound on heavy-duty cardboard cores and wrapped in protective PE film to prevent flattening under the weight of other cargo.

Plastic mesh prices are highly sensitive to raw polymer market fluctuations. Negotiate for a fixed price agreement for a set period if you plan on repeat orders. For bulk purchases exceeding 2,000 rolls, aim for a 15-20% discount off the sample price. If you are a small business, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer flexible MOQs (e.g., 50-100 rolls) to test market demand before committing to a full container load (FCL).

Plastic mesh is a high-volume, low-weight product, so shipping costs are often calculated by volumetric weight. To optimize freight, ask the supplier to nest different roll sizes or use vacuum packaging if applicable. Verify the HS Code (typically 3926.90 or 3925.90) with your local customs broker to determine the exact import duties and anti-dumping taxes that may apply in your specific country.
