Parrot cage factory manufacturers

When sourcing from a factory, prioritize 304-grade stainless steel or non-toxic powder-coated wrought iron. Ensure the coating is lead-free and zinc-free to prevent heavy metal poisoning, as parrots frequently use their beaks to climb. For bar thickness, large parrots require at least 3.5mm to 5mm wire diameter to prevent bending or breaking.

Bar spacing is the most vital safety feature. For small birds (Budgies, Lovebirds), spacing should be 1/2 inch or less. For medium birds (Conures, Senegals), 5/8 to 3/4 inch is ideal. For large parrots (Macaws, Cockatoos), spacing should be 3/4 to 1-1/4 inches. Incorrect spacing can lead to head entrapment or escape.

Look for cages with bird-proof safety locks (parrots are highly intelligent and can open simple latches). Ensure the design includes removable slide-out trays and grates for easy cleaning, seed guards to reduce mess, and swing-out feeder doors that allow for servicing without reaching into the bird's territory.

Suppliers should provide ASTM F963-17 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety) or EN71-3 reports to verify that paints and coatings are non-toxic. If the cage includes wooden perches, ensure they comply with ISPM 15 heat treatment standards for international shipping to prevent pest infestation.

Parrot cages are bulky and prone to bending or scratching. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons with internal foam corner protectors and vacuum-packed hardware. Request a drop test report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the factory to ensure the packaging can withstand transshipment handling.

Focus on Volume-Based Tiered Pricing. Since cages take up significant container space, negotiate based on Full Container Load (FCL) to reduce the per-unit shipping cost. Ask for a 1-2% spare parts allowance (extra screws, casters, and bowls) to be included in the FOB price to handle minor after-sales issues.

Look for the 'Audited Supplier' badge on Made-in-China.com, which indicates the factory has been verified by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Review their Business License and Export License to ensure they are a direct manufacturer rather than a small trading company, which ensures better quality control.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after shipping documents are verified. For the first order, consider a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L), and always hire a third-party inspector to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) before the final payment.
