Nike hoody manufacturers

When sourcing branded apparel like Nike, the most critical factor is authorized distribution. You must request a Letter of Authorization (LOA) or a Brand Authorization Certificate from the supplier to ensure they are legally permitted to resell the brand. For quality, check the fabric composition (typically a blend of cotton and polyester, such as Nike Club Fleece), and ensure the stitching density is high with no loose threads. The Swoosh logo should be perfectly symmetrical with clean embroidery or high-quality heat transfer that does not peel.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), especially regarding lead content in zippers and drawstrings. For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is mandatory to ensure no harmful chemicals are used in the dyes. Additionally, check for OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to guarantee textile safety. Technical specs should include GSM (Grams per Square Meter); a premium hoody usually ranges between 300-400 GSM for a heavy, high-quality feel.

Modern buyers prioritize Dri-FIT technology for moisture-wicking and thermal insulation for outdoor training. Ensure the hoody features reinforced ribbed cuffs and hems to maintain shape after multiple washes. For streetwear trends, look for oversized fits and heavyweight fleece. If sourcing for tech-wear niches, prioritize suppliers offering scuba hoods and bonded zippered pockets.

The biggest risk is Intellectual Property (IP) infringement. If a supplier cannot prove authorization, customs may seize and destroy the goods, and you could face legal action. Another risk is counterfeit quality, where the product looks real but fails performance tests. Always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure your payment is protected until the goods are verified.

Start by requesting a paid sample to verify the 'hand-feel' and fit. For pricing, negotiate based on volume tiers; typically, a 15-20% discount is achievable for orders exceeding 500 units. Insist on Incoterms 2020 clarity, preferably FOB (Free On Board), to maintain control over shipping costs. Always demand a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to confirm the batch matches the approved sample.

For large volumes (over 500kg), Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical, though it takes 30-45 days. For smaller, high-value replenishment, Air Freight is faster (5-7 days) but significantly more expensive. Ensure the supplier uses vacuum packaging for hoodies to reduce the volumetric weight, which can lower shipping costs by up to 30%.
