Buyers must prioritize Medical-Grade Silicone or High-Quality TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer). It is crucial to ensure the products are BPA-free, Phthalate-free, and Latex-free to prevent skin irritation or allergic reactions. Always request RoHS or REACH certification reports from the supplier to verify chemical safety compliance.
Focus on durometer (shore hardness) to ensure the product matches the intended realism or rigidity. For items with integrated electronics, verify IPX7 waterproofing ratings and USB magnetic charging capabilities. Ensure the suction cup strength (if applicable) is tested for stability on various surfaces.
Request tensile strength test results to ensure the material does not tear under pressure. For vibrating models, ask for motor life-cycle data (e.g., 500+ hours of continuous use). High-quality products should maintain their structural integrity and colorfastness after repeated cleaning with soap and water or specialized toy cleaners.
For the US market, products should align with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guidelines for body-safe materials. For the EU, CE marking is mandatory for electronic components, and compliance with the General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) is required. Ensure all packaging includes clear age-restriction labels (18+).
To avoid seizures or delays, ensure the HS Code (typically 3926.90 or 9023.00) is accurately declared. Use discreet packaging without explicit imagery or suggestive text on the outer carton. Be aware of local decency laws in the destination country, as some regions have strict prohibitions on adult-themed merchandise.
Focus on tiered pricing based on MOQ; for example, aim for a 15-20% discount when moving from 100 to 1,000 units. Negotiate for OEM/Private Labeling services, such as custom logo embossing or branded boxes, which are often included for free at higher volumes. Always request a pre-production sample before releasing the full deposit.
Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) at the factory to check for surface defects, odor issues, and functional consistency before the balance is paid.
For small trial orders, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is preferred for speed and tracking. For bulk inventory, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is significantly more cost-effective. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a UN38.3 Test Report if the products contain lithium batteries, as these are required for air transport.
