Dry food packaging bag manufacturers

For dry food, moisture and oxygen barriers are critical. You should prioritize multi-layer laminated structures such as PET/AL/PE (foil-lined) for maximum barrier or PET/VMPET/PE (metallized) for a balance of cost and protection. Ensure the total thickness is at least 100-150 microns to prevent punctures and maintain structural integrity during shipping.

Compliance is non-negotiable for food-contact materials. Ensure the supplier provides FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) compliance certificates or EC 1935/2004 for the European market. Additionally, look for ISO 22000 or BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standard) certifications, which guarantee the manufacturer follows strict food safety management systems.

To enhance user experience and shelf appeal, specify features like resealable zippers (press-to-close or slider) to maintain freshness after opening. Incorporate tear notches for easy opening and degassing valves if packaging items like coffee beans. For display, stand-up pouches (Doypack) or flat-bottom bags offer the best stability and branding surface area.

Request Rotogravure printing for high-volume orders (over 10,000 units) as it offers the highest color accuracy and consistency. For smaller batches, Digital printing is more cost-effective. Always ask for a press proof or a physical sample to verify Pantone color matching and ensure there is no ink migration, which could contaminate the food.

This is a common risk with low-quality inks and adhesives. Explicitly require the use of solvent-free lamination and food-grade, water-based or UV inks. Before full payment, mandate a third-party lab test (such as SGS or Intertek) to perform a migration test and sensory analysis to ensure no harmful substances or odors transfer to the food.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Packaging costs drop significantly as quantity increases due to plate-making (cylinder) costs. Negotiate for free cylinder sets if the order exceeds a certain threshold (e.g., 30,000 units). Also, discuss long-term contract pricing to hedge against fluctuations in raw plastic resin prices.

Dry food bags are lightweight but bulky. To prevent crushing or creasing, insist that the supplier uses heavy-duty corrugated outer cartons and plastic pallets with stretch wrap. For sea freight, ensure the use of desiccants inside the container to prevent 'container rain' (condensation), which can damage the paper headers or weaken the adhesive bonds of the bags.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Conduct a factory audit (either virtual or via a third-party) to confirm the supplier is a legitimate manufacturer and not a middleman with no quality control over the production environment.
