Door lock for refrigeration manufacturers

When sourcing for industrial or commercial use, prioritize high-pressure die-cast zinc alloy or 304 stainless steel for the housing to ensure corrosion resistance in cold, humid environments. The internal spring mechanism should be tested for at least 100,000 cycles to guarantee longevity. For walk-in coolers, ensure the lock features an emergency internal release handle (glow-in-the-dark) to prevent accidental entrapment, complying with safety standards like OSHA.

Verify that the lubricants used within the lock mechanism are low-temperature resistant grease (effective down to -40°C). Standard locks may seize if the moisture freezes inside the cylinder. Additionally, check the thermal bridge design; high-quality locks minimize heat transfer to prevent condensation and frost buildup on the external handle, which can lead to structural damage over time.

Suppliers should provide NSF/ANSI certification if the lock comes into contact with food zones or is used in food processing areas. For electrical components (such as magnetic locks or sensor-integrated handles), CE, UL, or RoHS compliance is essential to ensure electrical safety and the absence of hazardous substances. Always request salt spray test reports (minimum 48-72 hours) to validate rust resistance.

Modern B2B requirements often include IoT integration. Look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer locks with built-in sensors for door-status monitoring (open/closed). These should be compatible with RS485 or Modbus protocols to link with the warehouse's central temperature and security management system.

Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) focusing on the plating thickness and weight of the casting. Sub-standard suppliers often use lighter, porous alloys to save costs. Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after the quality verification is completed by a third-party inspector like SGS or Intertek.

Focus on tooling ownership and customization. If you require a specific offset or handle length, negotiate the mold fee—many suppliers will rebate this cost once your cumulative order reaches a certain volume (e.g., 5,000 units). Also, ask for 1-2% spare parts (cylinders and keys) to be included free of charge to handle minor maintenance issues without shipping delays.

Refrigeration locks are dense and heavy; therefore, sea freight (LCL) is usually the most economical for bulk orders. Ensure the supplier uses neutral, moisture-proof packaging with VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper to prevent oxidation during long sea voyages. For urgent samples, air express is viable, but confirm the HS Code (typically 8301.30) to accurately calculate import duties in your country.

Check if the supplier is an Audited Supplier on Made-in-China.com. Review their factory audit reports to see if they have in-house die-casting and polishing facilities. Suppliers with integrated production lines offer better quality consistency and more stable lead times (typically 20-30 days) compared to trading companies that outsource assembly.
