Disodium succinate manufacturers

Disodium Succinate is primarily used as a flavor enhancer and acidity regulator, particularly in the food and beverage industry. It provides a unique umami (savory) taste, often described as a 'shellfish-like' flavor, making it essential for instant noodles, seasonings, processed seafood, and soy sauce. Beyond flavor, it acts as a buffering agent to stabilize pH levels, ensuring product consistency and extending shelf life.

Buyers should distinguish between Disodium Succinate Anhydrous and Disodium Succinate Hexahydrate. The anhydrous form is preferred for moisture-sensitive applications. Ensure the product meets a purity level of ≥99%. Key technical parameters to verify include heavy metal content (Pb ≤2mg/kg), loss on drying, and clarity of solution. Requesting a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch is mandatory to ensure chemical stability.

For food-grade applications, the product must comply with FCC (Food Chemicals Codex) or USP (United States Pharmacopeia) standards. Depending on the target market, look for ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications for food safety management. If exporting to the EU, ensure the supplier provides documentation for E364(ii) compliance. For specific consumer markets, Halal and Kosher certifications are significant competitive advantages.

Economic feasibility is determined by the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Buyers should compare the unit price per kilogram against the active ingredient concentration. While the hexahydrate form may have a lower sticker price, the anhydrous form offers higher potency per unit weight, potentially reducing shipping and storage costs. Always negotiate tiered pricing where discounts of 5-10% are typically applied for orders exceeding 5 metric tons.

The most significant risks include moisture absorption (caking) during sea transit and batch inconsistency. To mitigate this, ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging (e.g., PE-lined kraft paper bags or fiber drums). Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your payment until the quality is verified by a third-party inspector like SGS or Intertek.

Focus on long-term supply stability rather than just the lowest price. Ask for free samples (typically 100g-500g) to conduct lab testing before placing a bulk order. Negotiate lead times clearly; reputable manufacturers on Made-in-China.com usually offer a 7-14 day lead time for standard specifications. Request a fixed-price contract for 6-12 months to hedge against fluctuations in raw material costs (succinic acid).

Disodium Succinate is generally classified as non-hazardous for transport, but it must be kept away from strong oxidizers and acids. Ensure the shipping documents include a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). For shipping to the US or Europe, verify the HS Code (typically 291711) to calculate accurate customs duties and VAT to avoid unexpected costs at the port of entry.
