Crossbelt magnet manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the Magnetic Field Intensity (Gauss level) and the Suspension Height. For effective extraction of tramp metal from deep material burdens, a high-gradient magnet (typically 1500-2500 Gauss at the working distance) is required. Additionally, ensure the Belt Width of the separator is at least 100-200mm wider than the conveyor belt to ensure full coverage and prevent material bypass. The motor should be IP65 or IP66 rated for dust and water resistance in harsh environments.

Permanent Magnets are ideal for applications requiring zero power consumption and low maintenance, suitable for removing small to medium iron contaminants. Electromagnetic versions are preferred for heavy-duty applications or where the magnetic field needs to be turned off to release captured metal easily. Electromagnets offer a deeper magnetic reach, making them superior for high-volume mining or recycling operations where the material burden is thick.

For European markets, CE Marking is mandatory, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. For hazardous environments (like coal mines or grain elevators), ATEX or IECEx certification for explosion-proof integrity is critical. Furthermore, ensure the manufacturer follows ISO 9001 quality management systems to guarantee structural welding integrity and magnetic stability over time.

Crossbelt magnets are primarily used in Recycling, Mining, Aggregate, and Bulk Handling industries. They should be installed either cross-belt (perpendicular) or in-line (over the head pulley). Installation at the head pulley is often more efficient as the material is in suspension, making it easier for the magnet to pull out metal. Ensure the structure can support the heavy static weight of the unit, which can range from 500kg to over 5,000kg.

Magnets are classified as 'Dangerous Goods' for air freight because they can interfere with aircraft navigation systems. You must ensure the supplier provides Magnetic Shielding Packaging and a Non-Magnetic Inspection Report. For sea freight, which is more economical for these heavy units, ensure the wooden crates are IPPC fumigated to prevent customs delays.

Request a Gauss Meter Test video showing the magnetic strength at the specified suspension height. You should also verify the belt material; it must be non-magnetic stainless steel or heavy-duty vulcanized rubber with cleats. Using a third-party inspection service to check the motor brand (e.g., SEW or ABB) and the oil cooling system (for electromagnets) is highly recommended before final payment.

Focus on the Copper vs. Aluminum coil distinction for electromagnets; copper is more expensive but offers better conductivity and longevity. Negotiate based on Total Lifecycle Cost rather than just the purchase price. Ask for a 2-year warranty on the magnetic core and clarify the Incoterms (FOB vs. DDP) clearly, as inland heavy-lift transportation in the destination country can be significantly expensive.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure payments are only released upon confirmation of shipment. For high-value orders, consider a Letter of Credit (L/C). Always verify if the supplier is an Audited Supplier with a verified floor space and production capacity to avoid trading companies that lack technical after-sales support.
