Bed sheets packaging manufacturers

The choice of material depends on brand positioning and protection needs. PVC/EVA zipper bags are the industry standard for visibility and water resistance. Non-woven fabric bags offer breathability and are often reused by consumers, enhancing brand value. For eco-conscious brands, recycled cardboard boxes or biodegradable PLA plastics are increasingly popular. Ensure the material thickness (measured in microns or gauge) is sufficient to prevent tearing during transit; for PVC, a thickness of 0.1mm to 0.2mm is recommended.

High-end packaging should include reinforced handles (PP rope or die-cut) for easy carrying and high-quality zippers (nylon or resin) that do not snag. To prevent moisture buildup and mildew during long-term sea freight, incorporate brass or plastic air eyelets (ventilation holes). For retail display, ensure the inclusion of a clear PVC window so customers can feel the fabric texture or see the color without opening the seal.

Packaging must adhere to regional safety laws. In the US, suffocation warnings are mandatory on plastic bags with an opening of 5 inches or more. For the EU, ensure compliance with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC) and check for REACH certification to ensure no harmful phthalates are present in plastic components. Always include country of origin (COO) markings and accurate fiber content labels if the packaging serves as the primary retail unit.

To avoid discrepancies, provide the supplier with Pantone (PMS) color codes rather than CMYK values. Request a pre-production sample (PPS) for color approval. For plastic printing, rotogravure printing offers the best color saturation for large runs, while digital printing is more cost-effective for small batches but may have slight color variances. Ensure the ink used is eco-friendly (soy-based) if marketing to sustainable niches.

Implement a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) before the final balance payment. The inspector should check for seam strength, zipper functionality, and printing clarity using the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) 2.5/4.0 standard. When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site verification by independent bodies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland.

Packaging is a volume-driven industry. You can often secure a 15-25% discount by increasing the order from 3,000 to 10,000 units. If you have multiple SKUs (e.g., Twin, Queen, King), negotiate a total volume discount while keeping the print design uniform to reduce plate-making fees. Ask the supplier to stock raw materials for you to shorten lead times for repeat orders.

Packaging is often bulky but light. To prevent the outer cartons from collapsing and wrinkling the inner product, insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and plastic palletization with shrink wrap. Request that the supplier uses desiccant silica gel packets in every master carton to prevent humidity damage during the 30-45 day sea voyage.

Always use secure payment methods such as Letters of Credit (L/C) for large volumes or Escrow-based trade assurance services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never wire full payments to private bank accounts; ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license and the proforma invoice.
