Wholesale metal handcuffs manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize carbon steel or stainless steel construction to ensure high tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Key features include a double-lock mechanism to prevent over-tightening and tampering, a minimum of 20 locking positions for versatility, and a weight range between 250g to 350g for a balance of durability and portability. Ensure the internal springs are tested for at least 5,000 cycles of opening and closing without failure.

For law enforcement grade products, compliance with NIJ Standard 0307.01 (National Institute of Justice) is the gold standard, covering requirements for mechanical strength and salt spray resistance. Additionally, verify that the manufacturer holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management. For products intended for the EU market, ensure materials comply with REACH regulations regarding nickel release to prevent skin irritation.

Request a technical drawing or a video demonstration of the anti-shim capability. Professional handcuffs should have a hardened steel pivot pin and a frame that resists prying. Ask the supplier if the keys are standard universal police keys or specialized high-security keys, depending on your target market's requirements.

The most common and cost-effective treatment is nickel plating, which provides excellent rust resistance. For tactical or low-visibility use, black oxide or electrophoresis finishes are preferred as they eliminate reflections. For extreme environments, 304 or 316 stainless steel is the best choice as it is inherently resistant to oxidation without the need for plating.

Handcuffs are often classified as dual-use goods or police equipment. You must check the Export Control List of the originating country and the Import Regulations of your destination. Some regions require a Strategic Trade License or an End-User Certificate (EUC). Failure to provide these can lead to customs seizure and legal penalties.

Always use Trade Terms that protect the buyer, such as FOB (Free On Board), and utilize secure payment methods. We highly recommend sourcing through reputable manufacturers on Made-in-China.com, where you can verify the supplier's Audit Reports and 'Diamond Member' status to ensure they are a legitimate factory rather than an unlicensed middleman.

For metal handcuffs, price is heavily influenced by raw material costs (steel). Negotiate based on volume tiers; typically, a 15-20% discount is achievable for orders exceeding 1,000 units. If you require custom branding (laser engraving), ask for a bundled price that includes the mold or setup fee to avoid hidden costs later.

Hire a third-party inspection agency to perform a random sampling (AQL 2.5/4.0). The inspector should specifically test the double-lock function, check for sharp edges or burrs that could cause injury, and perform a drop test to ensure the locking mechanism remains functional after impact.
