Water jet loom used manufacturers

When sourcing used water jet looms, you must prioritize the machine's brand (e.g., Tsudakoma, Toyota, or Picanol) and the manufacturing year, as newer models offer better energy efficiency. Key specs include the nominal reed width (typically 190cm to 340cm), the shedding motion type (plain, cam, or dobby), and the number of nozzles (1-color or 2-color). Ensure the RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) is still within 80-90% of its original factory rating to guarantee productivity.

Request a video of the machine in running condition to check for abnormal vibrations or noise. Ask for the maintenance logs to see if critical parts like the plunger, suction nozzle, and pressure valves have been replaced recently. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspector to check for rust on the frame and the wear level of the electronic control system (PCB boards), which are expensive to replace.

Water jet looms are specifically designed for hydrophobic synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acetate. They are ideal for producing taffeta, chiffon, oxford cloth, and umbrella fabrics. Note that they are not suitable for natural fibers like cotton or wool because the water-based insertion method would damage the yarn and prevent proper drying.

Buyers must ensure their facility has a high-quality water treatment system to provide soft water, preventing mineral buildup in the nozzles. Additionally, a centralized drainage system and industrial drying equipment (like a cylinder dryer) are essential to handle the moisture in the finished fabric. Verify if the used machine's voltage (e.g., 380V/50Hz) is compatible with your local industrial power grid.

Check if the machinery meets CE marking for European markets or specific OSHA safety standards for the US. For used equipment, ensure all safety guards and emergency stop buttons are functional. Many countries require a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) for used machinery to ensure it is not 'electronic waste' and is still fit for industrial use.

The biggest risks include hidden mechanical defects, missing components, and damage during transit. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's secured payment services and never pay the full amount upfront. Always insist on a detailed packing list that accounts for every beam, heald frame, and dropper included in the deal.

Negotiate based on the remaining lifespan of the wear-parts. If the supplier cannot provide new consumables (nozzles, springs, seals), demand a 5-10% price reduction to cover your local sourcing costs. Also, negotiate for loading supervision to ensure the machines are properly dismantled and secured in the container to prevent shifting.

Used looms should be shipped via 40ft HQ containers or Flat Rack containers depending on the width. Ensure the supplier uses anti-rust oil (VCI) on all precision metal surfaces and wraps the machine in vacuum plastic film to prevent sea-air corrosion. Confirm the Incoterms; CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is often preferred for heavy machinery to ensure the seller handles the complex loading process.

Only deal with Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have a proven track record of exporting heavy machinery. Request Bill of Lading (B/L) copies from their previous shipments to other international buyers. Avoid sellers who pressure you to pay via non-traceable methods; always keep communication and transactions within the platform's protected ecosystem.
