Porous ceramic scented plate manufacturers

The most critical factor is the porosity rate and pore size distribution, which directly determine the absorption capacity and scent release duration. You should look for plates made from high-purity alumina or cordierite if durability is a priority. Ensure the surface finish is smooth to prevent skin irritation during handling, and verify that the material is fired at temperatures exceeding 1200°C to ensure structural integrity and prevent crumbling over time.

Request a scent retention test report from the supplier. A high-quality porous ceramic should be able to retain essential oils for 48 to 72 hours in a standard room environment. You should also inquire about the capillary action efficiency, which ensures the oil is absorbed into the core rather than just sitting on the surface, preventing leakage or staining of furniture.

Since these products often come into contact with essential oils and skin, they must comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) for the EU market and California Proposition 65 for the US. Ensure the ceramic is lead-free and cadmium-free. If the plate is sold as a set with oils, the entire package must meet MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) requirements for hazardous substance labeling.

Yes, most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You can request laser engraving or silk-screen printing for logos. However, ensure the ink used is oil-resistant so the branding does not dissolve when essential oils are applied. For custom shapes, verify the mold cost and lead time, which typically ranges from 10 to 15 days.

The main risk is breakage due to brittleness. You must insist on ISTA 3A standard packaging, which includes individual bubble wrapping, inner boxes, and double-walled corrugated master cartons. For large orders, palletization with plastic wrap is mandatory to prevent shifting during sea freight. Always include a 1-2% breakage allowance in your contract terms.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 500, 2000, and 5000 units). For porous ceramics, the unit price is highly sensitive to raw material costs and firing energy prices. Negotiate a sample refund policy where the sample cost is deducted from the first bulk order. On Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' to ensure you are dealing with a factory rather than a middleman to get factory-direct pricing.

Use secured payment terms such as Letter of Credit (L/C) for very large volumes or Escrow-based payment services provided by reputable platforms. Never wire the full amount upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm. Conduct a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) via a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify quality before the final payment.

Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some countries (like the EU or USA) impose on Chinese ceramic products. Check the specific HS Code (typically 6913.90 or 6914.90) to determine the exact import tariff rates in your country. Request a Certificate of Origin (Form A or Form E) from the supplier to potentially benefit from preferential trade agreements and reduce customs duties.
