Ice cream cone paper manufacturers

Ice cream cone paper must be food-grade and typically uses aluminum foil paper or PE-coated paper. The primary requirement is moisture resistance to prevent the cone from becoming soggy and low-temperature durability to ensure the paper does not become brittle or peel in freezers. Ensure the supplier provides FDA or EU food contact safety certifications.

For food packaging, flexographic printing using water-based, non-toxic inks is the industry standard. It is more eco-friendly than offset printing and avoids chemical odors. Ensure the supplier offers high-resolution CMYK printing to maintain brand integrity, and check for grease-proof coatings that protect the print from smudging during handling.

You must specify the taper angle (usually 22° or 23°) and the top diameter/height accurately. A precise die-cutting process is critical to ensure the sleeves fit snugly without gaps. For automated production lines, the paper thickness (typically 70gsm to 120gsm) must be consistent to prevent jamming in the dispensing machines.

Yes, many buyers are shifting to PLA-coated paper or FSC-certified biodegradable paper. These materials are compostable and help brands meet environmental regulations. However, verify that these eco-friendly alternatives maintain the same thermal insulation and barrier properties as traditional PE coatings.

Always request a pre-production sample to test the fit on your specific cones. Use third-party inspection services like SGS or Intertek to conduct a smell test and migration test to ensure no harmful chemicals transfer to the food. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone rigorous on-site factory verifications.

Negotiate based on volume tiers; for paper products, the price drops significantly at 100,000+ units due to plate-making costs. Ask for free plate-making for long-term contracts. Additionally, discuss lead time guarantees, as seasonal demand for ice cream can cause production bottlenecks in late spring.

Paper is highly sensitive to humidity and compression. Insist on heavy-duty corrugated export cartons with internal plastic liners (polybags) to prevent moisture ingress during sea freight. Ensure the pallets are shrink-wrapped and have corner protectors to prevent the sleeves from being crushed, which would render them useless for automated dispensers.

Verify the HS Code (typically 4819 or 4823) to check for any anti-dumping duties or specific plastic bans in your country (e.g., Single-Use Plastics Directive in the EU). Ensure all Customs Declarations accurately reflect the material composition to avoid clearance delays or fines.
