Gravel truck manufacturers

Selecting the correct engine depends on the payload capacity and terrain. For standard urban construction, a 290-340 HP engine is usually sufficient. However, for heavy-duty mining or steep off-road gravel hauling, you should prioritize engines with 370-420 HP or higher. Ensure the engine meets local emission standards, such as Euro IV, V, or VI, to avoid import compliance issues.

The durability of a gravel truck depends on the material and thickness of the cargo box. For hauling abrasive gravel and stones, specify high-tensile steel (like Hardox or Q345). A standard configuration for heavy loads is an 8mm bottom thickness and 6mm side thickness. Additionally, choose between a U-shaped box (easier for material discharge) and a rectangular box (better for large, irregular rocks).

The hydraulic lifting system is the heart of a dump truck. Front-end lifting systems (e.g., Hyva brand) are highly recommended for international buyers due to their stability, lower weight, and ease of maintenance. While under-body twin-ram hoists are available, front-lifting cylinders provide a better tipping angle and reduce the risk of turnover on uneven ground.

For most gravel applications, a 6x4 (three axles) or 8x4 (four axles) configuration is standard. A 6x4 configuration offers better maneuverability in tight construction sites, while an 8x4 configuration provides a higher legal payload capacity. Ensure the axles are equipped with hub reduction if the truck will operate in muddy or soft-soil conditions to increase torque and traction.

Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). You should hire a third-party agency (like SGS or Intertek) to verify the VIN number, engine model, and steel thickness against the Proforma Invoice. On Made-in-China.com, you can also look for Audited Suppliers to ensure the factory's production capacity and legitimacy have been verified.

Heavy trucks are typically shipped via Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) or Bulk Cargo ships. RoRo is the safest as the truck is driven onto the vessel, protecting it from salt spray. If you are looking to save costs and the truck is small enough, Flat Rack containers can be used, but ensure the supplier applies anti-rust wax coating to all chrome and paint surfaces before transit.

Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin, a Commercial Invoice, and a Packing List. For many African and Middle Eastern markets, a COC (Certificate of Conformity) or ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) is mandatory for customs clearance. Confirm that the supplier has experience exporting to your specific country to avoid costly port storage fees due to missing paperwork.

For high-value items like gravel trucks, use Secured Payment terms. Avoid 100% upfront payments; a standard structure is 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy. Utilizing the trading escrow services provided by Made-in-China.com can provide an extra layer of financial security, ensuring funds are only released when shipping milestones are met.
