Glass bottle with cork stopper manufacturers

When sourcing glass bottles, prioritize High Borosilicate Glass for thermal shock resistance or Soda-Lime Glass for standard packaging. Ensure the glass is Lead-free and Food-grade, complying with FDA or EU 10/2011 regulations. For the stoppers, verify they are made from Natural Cork or Agglomerated Cork that has undergone TCA-free testing to prevent odor contamination.

The cork must provide an airtight seal to prevent oxidation. Request the expansion rate of the cork after extraction and ensure the taper angle matches the bottle neck's inner diameter. For liquid products, a vacuum leak test should be performed. If the bottle is for decorative use, aesthetic consistency and density of the cork are the primary metrics.

Products must meet ASTM standards for glass clarity and impact resistance. For the US market, CPSIA compliance is necessary if marketed toward children. For the European market, ensure the supplier provides a Declaration of Compliance (DoC) for food contact materials. Always check for ISO 9001 certification to ensure consistent manufacturing processes.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer Deep Processing services, including silk-screen printing, frosting, hot stamping, and electroplating. You can also request custom mold creation for unique bottle shapes, though this typically requires a higher MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) of 10,000+ units to be economically feasible.

Glass is fragile, so you must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual cell dividers (egg-crate packing). For high-value items, request palletization with shrink wrap and 'Fragile' labeling in multiple languages. It is highly recommended to negotiate 1-3% extra units to cover potential transit breakage.

Focus on Tiered Pricing; glass production is energy-intensive, so unit costs drop significantly as volume increases. Ask for a Sample Refund Policy, where the cost of the pre-production sample is deducted from the final bulk order. Always clarify Incoterms (e.g., FOB vs. CIF) early to avoid hidden logistics surcharges.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until shipment. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), focusing on glass thickness, bubble count, and cork fitment. Never release the final 70% payment until the inspection report is approved.

Glass is heavy, making Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) the most cost-effective method. Be aware of Anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU) may impose on Chinese glass products. Ensure your customs broker has the correct HS Code (typically 7010.90) to avoid classification delays and ensure accurate duty calculation.
