Aluminum doors manufacturers

For residential applications, a profile thickness of 1.4mm to 1.6mm is standard, while commercial or high-traffic areas require 2.0mm to 3.0mm for structural integrity. Ensure the supplier uses 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, which offers the best balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and surface finish quality.

Aluminum is a natural conductor, so you must prioritize Thermal Break technology (polyamide strips) to prevent heat transfer. Look for a low U-Value (ideally <2.0 W/m²K) and Double or Triple Glazing (Low-E glass) with argon gas filling to ensure energy efficiency and compliance with modern building codes.

For coastal or high-humidity areas, Powder Coating (Qualicoat certified) or Anodizing is essential to prevent oxidation and salt spray damage. Fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating is the premium choice for extreme weather resistance, offering a color lifespan of over 20 years without significant fading.

The lifespan of the door depends on its hardware. Specify German-brand hardware (e.g., HOPPE, ROTO, or GU) or high-quality domestic equivalents for smooth operation. Ensure the locking systems meet multi-point locking standards and the glass is Tempered (Toughened) or Laminated for impact resistance and safety.

Verify that the products meet AS2047 (Australia), CE (Europe), or ASTM (USA) standards depending on your target market. Request Air Tightness, Water Tightness, and Wind Pressure resistance test reports (often referred to as NFRC or AAMA ratings in North America) to ensure the doors can withstand local environmental conditions.

Aluminum doors are heavy and fragile. Insist on Five-Layer Packaging: protective film, foam corners, bubble wrap, cardboard, and most importantly, a fully enclosed plywood crate (non-fumigation). Avoid simple wooden frames as they do not provide sufficient protection against forklift impact during LCL (Less than Container Load) transit.

Beyond the unit price, negotiate the Hardware Warranty (minimum 5 years) and the Glass Replacement Policy. Request a 1% to 2% spare parts kit (including gaskets, rollers, and handles) to be included in the shipment to handle minor on-site adjustments or shipping wear without delaying project timelines.

Since aluminum doors are often custom-made, errors in measurement are fatal. Require the supplier to provide a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) video showing actual measurements with a caliper and tape measure, a water-leakage test using a high-pressure hose, and a smooth-operation test for all sliding or folding mechanisms.

Some countries (like the USA, Australia, and parts of the EU) impose Anti-Dumping Duties on Chinese aluminum extrusions. To avoid unexpected costs, check your local customs tariff code (HS Code, typically 761010) and consult with a freight forwarder to see if finished doors are taxed differently than raw profiles in your region.

Use Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are protected until the supplier provides proof of shipment. For large projects, a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is standard, but only after a successful third-party quality inspection at the factory.
